Lynn Meadows Discovery Center will be hosting the Smithsonian Institute’s traveling exhibit Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America from August 13th until September 24th.

Hometown Teams is a 3 dimensional exhibit portraying sports in America and how they have shaped, and continue to shape, American culture and identity. Free-standing exhibit sections employ a variety of artifacts, images, video and audio, and hands-on interactives to elucidate this All American theme. Don’t miss this opportunity to see a world-class exhibition from the famed Smithsonian Institute. In addition to the displays, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center will provide a complimenting local exhibit and offer a series of local programs related to the Hometown Teams theme. Please contact development director Penny Patterson if you have local sports items or photos (past and present), artifacts, or memorabilia to lend or donate for the exhibit.
